“The topic of ‘aging in place’ has been very hot in the flooring industry, says Lisbeth Calandrino, Associate Publisher of Fabulous Floors Magazine. According to NAHB, 75% of builders report an increase in inquiries about aging in place and the market to be a 20-25 billion dollar business. Technology is providing many solutions for this issue. I’m glad to see that Dwell on Design is offering a seminar on the topic called, “Innovations-In-Aging in Place.” To sign up: https://la.dwellondesign.com/Attendee/Schedule/SessionDetails/40037/

We Love Our Floors AND Our Community

Customer service means giving the customer something more. A lagniappe is something extra. I was introduced to the word when I was I Baton Rouge, doing a seminar on customer service. Simply, it’s like getting the 13th doughnut when you order a dozen. I asked Terri Daniels, V.P. Public Relations, Carpet One Floor & Home, to give me an example of her idea of customer service; something a little extra.

I think this best describes it. Thanks Terri.

At Carpet One Floor & Home, our main goal is to make sure our customers get the beautiful floor they’ve been dreaming of. However, we also want to impact our customer’s lives in a positive way beyond a great floor.

Carpet One Floor & Home has a long history of being socially responsible. Even during tough economic times are stores have always been very involved in their communities and with various causes. Our Carpet One Cares blog www.CarpetOneCares.com highlights the many different causes and local activities our members are involved in.

In addition to our stores’ local efforts, Carpet One Floor & Home is committed to being socially responsible on a national level. In 2004, we launched Carpet One Welcomes Your Support, which is our way of showing our commitment to support breast cancer research and awareness.  Each October, we introduce a new line of beautifully designed welcome mats featuring the pink ribbon. These welcome mats are sold exclusively at Carpet One Floor & Home stores throughout the year.   You can preview select welcome mats on www.Facebook.com/CarpetOne.

Each welcome mat sale helps The Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF), and the Canadian Cancer Society (CCS) find a cure for breast cancer.  The indoor/outdoor welcome mats are each emblazoned with a pink ribbon to remind us of those near and dear who have battled with breast cancer. Twenty-five percent ofU.S.sales go to the BCRF and 25% of Canadian sales go to CCS.

To date, Carpet One Floor & Home has donated more than $850,000 to breast cancer awareness & research. We will continue to contribute to the search for a cure for breast cancer through our Carpet One Welcomes Your Support campaign.  We are currently working on our 2012 collection of welcome mats, which will be available in October.

From local to national, Carpet One Floor & Home truly cares.
